Snowplow Calibration
EVS is currently working on the "Snowplow Calibration and Training" project. Proper calibration of snowplow salt/sand spreaders is a critical necessity for the proper application of salt or salt-sand mixes for winter road deicing or anti-icing. To ensure that calibration is performed accurately and consistently in all maintenance areas, Mn/DOT Maintenance Research has identified a need for development of an updated and detailed calibration manual and a structured training program for introduction of proper calibration procedures. EVS staff is utilizing its extensive Mn/DOT winter road maintenance experience and research expertise to evaluate the state of the practice, conduct Mn/DOT district surveys, prepare calibration manuals, and conduct calibration field training.
