Lutheran Social Services
Lutheran Social Services developed a 2.2 acre site in Minneapolis at the intersection of 24th Street and Park Avenue. The multi-story mixed use building contains administrative offices in one wing and a homeless shelter in the other. An underground parking ramp was used to supplement the limited surface parking available on the site. Rain gardens were used to treat the stormwater runoff before infiltrating it on site. The city's stormsewer in this area is undersized and they only allowed a 6" outlet pipe to leave the site which doubled the typical detention requirements on the property.
