TH 53 Environmental Impact Statement
Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) selected the team of EVS, Edwards and Kelcey and CH2M Hill to provide an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the reconstruction of TH 53 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided highway (SP # 6920- 44). This project involved over 90 miles of road, necessitating the project to be broken into two phases. The major considerations addressed in the planning and design of this project included: residential and commercial development, agricultural resources, railway corridors and the identification and analysis of environmental resource impacts such as wetland impacts, which may be caused by project construction or operation.
