EIS, Wetlands and Land Surveying for New Highway 212
Mn/DOT selected the team of HNTB and EVS to provide wetland services and surveying services for the "design-build" realignment of TH 212. As part of a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement, EVS prepared a technical report describing wetland locations as well as completing Function and Value Assessments for each wetland in accordance with United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE), Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act (WCA) standards. EVS provided the necessary details to prepare the wetland mitigation areas. Over 117 water features were delineated and surveyed, these included wetlands, creeks, ditches, and storm water ponds. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was used to create mapping for field navigation used during the on-site review to help locate potential wetlands. GIS was also utilized to create graphics for the deliverable reports.
