Welcome to Virginia Winberg, LSIT, EVS' Senior Survey Technician
Virginia joins EVS as a Senior Survey Technician. Since 2005, Virginia has been active in the land survyeying profession. Her experience includes utility easements, transmission corridor surveys, ALTA surveys, as well as supporting many other project types. Some of her clients include: Xcel Energy, Qwest, and Great River Energy. Virginia is an active member of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) and co-founded the MSPS Young Professionals Group.

EVS is pleased to announce David Nash, PE as Director of Residential Development. Dave comes to EVS with 25 years of professional experience. His experience includes project engineering and management for a large variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. At EVS, Dave’s focus will be to manage a professional design team in the preparation and entitlement for neighborhood development projects. His experience and technical expertise will be a valuable asset to any development. Some of his past clients include D.R. Horton, Ryland Homes, Toll Brothers, Rottlund Homes, Charles Cudd LLC and Gonyea Development
EVS is honored to have Dick Koppy, PE, an industry veteran of over 30 years, join EVS as Vice President of Business Development. Dick brings unparalleled experience; his previous positions include Director of Engineering at Ryan Companies US, founder of RLK Associates and former City Engineer/DPW for the City of St. Louis Park. Dick will focus on creating and managing teams to handle all types of community development infrastructure projects from a public and private perspective. Additionally, he will consult on site development projects that highlight entitlements, engineering and environmental details.
Wayne Sicora, PE, LEED-AP, CPESC, has joined EVS as a Project Manager. Wayne has over 15 years experience working on a variety of project types including retail, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects. As an active watershed commissioner and a planner of the Annual Water Resources Conference, Wayne is well versed in water resources design standards, regulations and permitting.

Governor-Elect of Oruro in Bolivia Visits Minnesota
Governor-Elect Santos Tito of Oruro in Bolivia visited Minnesota from May 10th to 15th to meet with potential partners and discuss possible infrastructure projects in Oruro. Some of his projects include: Wind, solar and geothermal energy, airports, and hospitals. Dennis and Andy Kim from EVS had the pleasure to assist him during his visit and also learned about his development program for Oruro. Governor-Elect Santos Tito will be sworn into office on May 30th, 2010.

Michael Williams - Winner of the MSPS Map Contest
Michael Williams won two of the three available categories in the MSPS Conference 2010: 17th Annual Map Contest. He won in the Subdivision Plat, C.I.C. or Registered Land Survey (RLS) category for his C.I.C. Plat of Shadow Falls Rowhouses located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and in the A.L.T.A. Survey category for his drawing of a property located in Bloomington, Minnesota, for the Toro Corporation.

EVS, Inc. is pleased to welcome Henry D. Nelson as the new Survey Department Director. Mr. Nelson is a professional land surveyor and began his land surveying career in 1977. He has been involved in thousands of surveying projects for residential and commercial developments throughout the Minneapolis - St. Paul Metropolitan area. Mr. Nelson is President Elect of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS), and a licensed land surveyor in MN, WI, IA, SD, and ND. Mr. Nelson is recognized for his dependability, as a conscientious land surveyor and his effectiveness as supervisor.
"With Henry on-staff, EVS will be able to bring greater value to the Survey Department, something our clients have been asking for", said Dennis Kim, President. "His experience and the relationships he has established over the years, will help EVS continue to be successful and grow".

EVS Wins Bent Tree Wind Energy Development Project
EVS was selected by Alliant Energy to design the Laydown area and full pavement sections for the Bent Tree Wind Development - Phase 1 near Albert Lea, Minnesota. The project will produce 200MW from 122 turbines.
EVS was responsible for site design, utilities, stormwater management, and grading of the laydown area. EVS will have a construction liaison observing the progress. EVS was also responsible for design of the pavement for over 20 miles of access roads, crane pads and service areas. For more info: http://www.alliantenergy.com/Extras/023232
