EVS Awarded Vikings Stadium Project!
At the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) meeting, it was announced that EVS was selected by the architect, HKS Sports & Entertainment to be the Civil Engineering sub-consultant.

EVS’ unique approach of several small and minority/women-owned businesses teaming together was successful as our team was able to leverage the strengths of each team member. This team was purpose-built for this project. Between the eight firms on the team, we have had significant design responsibilities on nearly every major project in the Twin Cities including the TCF Bank Gophers Football Stadium, Target Field, 35W Bridge Reconstruction, and Central Corridor LRT.
The team is led by EVS and includes seven sub-consultants; MFRA of Plymouth; Pierce Pini of Blaine; HTPO of Eden Prairie; Greenway Consulting of St. Paul; HZ United of Plymouth; and Progressive Consulting Engineers of Minneapolis. One large firm, SEH of Minnetonka was included on the team to provide quality control and traffic engineering services.

With 100% of the work being performed locally by Minnesota Businesses and with over 90% minority/women owned business participation, EVS is proud to lead this highly qualified team on this momentous project.

EVS Pursues Vikings Stadium Project
With assistance from the Vikings Stadium Consortium (VSC), EVS assembled a team to pursue the Civil and Traffic Engineering services package for the new Vikings Stadium. A ground-breaking and unique approach was taken in that seven Women and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (W/MBE) teamed together for this historic project.

The purpose of the Mayor’s visit was to establish communication with Minnesota businesses and to identify business opportunities in both Korea and Minnesota. Daegu is the fourth largest city in South Korea.

EVS is pleased to announce David Nash, PE as Director of Residential Development. Dave comes to EVS with 25 years of professional experience. His experience includes project engineering and management for a large variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. At EVS, Dave’s focus will be to manage a professional design team in the preparation and entitlement for neighborhood development projects. His experience and technical expertise will be a valuable asset to any development. Some of his past clients include D.R. Horton, Ryland Homes, Toll Brothers, Rottlund Homes, Charles Cudd LLC and Gonyea Development
EVS is honored to have Dick Koppy, PE, an industry veteran of over 30 years, join EVS as Vice President of Business Development and Special Projects. Dick brings unparalleled experience; his previous positions include Director of Engineering at Ryan Companies US, founder of RLK Associates and former City Engineer/DPW for the City of St. Louis Park. Dick will focus on creating and managing teams to handle all types of community development infrastructure projects from a public and private perspective. Additionally, he will consult on site development projects that highlight entitlements, engineering and environmental details.

Governor-Elect of Oruro in Bolivia Visits Minnesota
Governor-Elect Santos Tito of Oruro in Bolivia visited Minnesota from May 10th to 15th to meet with potential partners and discuss possible infrastructure projects in Oruro. Some of his projects include: Wind, solar and geothermal energy, airports, and hospitals. Dennis and Andy Kim from EVS had the pleasure to assist him during his visit and also learned about his development program for Oruro. Governor-Elect Santos Tito will be sworn into office on May 30th, 2010.

Michael Williams - Winner of the MSPS Map Contest
Michael Williams won two of the three available categories in the MSPS Conference 2010: 17th Annual Map Contest. He won in the Subdivision Plat, C.I.C. or Registered Land Survey (RLS) category for his C.I.C. Plat of Shadow Falls Rowhouses located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and in the A.L.T.A. Survey category for his drawing of a property located in Bloomington, Minnesota, for the Toro Corporation.

EVS Wins Bent Tree Wind Energy Development Project
EVS was selected by Alliant Energy to design the Laydown area and full pavement sections for the Bent Tree Wind Development - Phase 1 near Albert Lea, Minnesota. The project will produce 200MW from 122 turbines.
EVS was responsible for site design, utilities, stormwater management, and grading of the laydown area. EVS will have a construction liaison observing the progress. EVS was also responsible for design of the pavement for over 20 miles of access roads, crane pads and service areas. For more info: http://www.alliantenergy.com/Extras/023232
